Kitchens & Bathrooms

What to consider around spills, cleaning, heating and the way the floor is fitted.

01

Start with the room

A busy kitchen, a family bathroom and a wet room have different requirements. Tell us about splashes, standing water and your cleaning routine. Check that the particular flooring range is suitable for the space.

02

Check the fitting details

A water-resistant surface does not make the whole room watertight. Joins, edges, the subfloor and the fitting method all need to suit the room. Ask how the chosen product should be installed around baths, appliances and doorways.

03

Compare the surface

Look at texture as well as colour. If slip resistance is a priority, ask for the product’s technical information and discuss the conditions in which it will be used. A photograph cannot tell you how a surface feels.

04

Mention underfloor heating

Bring the heating system details when you compare floors. Compatibility, temperature limits and preparation depend on the flooring and heating manufacturers’ instructions.

Before you choose

Choose the flooring and fitting specification together. LVT and sheet vinyl are options to discuss, with the exact range checked for your room.
